YA Speculative Fiction
I write YA speculative fiction that blends high-concept ideas with fast-paced action—stories designed to keep you up past midnight and make you forget about lunch.
I’m drawn to genre-bending stories that layer our existing world with “what if” scenarios and explore the ripple effects. What happens when you can enter and alter someone’s dreams? What if you could merge with ghosts and share their abilities? I love taking speculative concepts and examining how they reshape everything—identity, power, relationships, choice.
My characters are often competent but emotionally messy—outsiders who are good at what they do but underestimated or emotionally guarded. They navigate impossible choices in worlds where the rules are changing, because that’s exactly the world young people are inheriting. They face rocks and hard places, and their growth comes from learning to stop avoiding these moments and move through them instead. I’m especially drawn to found families, tight-knit teams, and stories that balance darker themes with personal resilience.
At the heart of my work is empowerment: the idea that you control your own destiny, even when it’s hard, even when it sucks, even when it feels like you have no choice. My characters aren’t victims of their past, their families’ dysfunction, or the world’s expectations. They’re what they make themselves—and that’s the feeling I want readers to carry with them long after they’ve finished the book.I’m drawn to characters who must navigate impossible choices in worlds where the rules are changing, because that’s exactly the world young people are inheriting.
